how do i connect my smart 3G phone to my laptop? (not like a dial-up connection)?

yea, i want to know how can i do it. i’m new to this stuff. and another thing, how do i connect to a wifi connection in the internet? my laptop already has a wifi device, i just don’t know how to use it. thanks a lot.

    For a laptop that is wifi enabled, it will automatically scan for any signals in the area where you’re at. If there is free wifi in the area, you’ll be able to use easy by just clicking on the internet icon to connect. But if it’s a private wifi connection (like those for personal use or those for companies), you’ll need to know the username and password to allow a connection. A word of caution about using public wifi – since it’s open to all, there is a tendency for it to be more prone to carrying risks (viruses, hackers) than a personal wifi connection.

    To connect your laptop to your 3G phone, you’ll have to find out first if your laptop is 3G enabled. If it’s not then you’ll have to buy a card that will enable it. And check with your phone’s manual on how to connect. chattemm

    For your 3g phone, it would act as your modem. What is your phone , I cant tell from here if its a 3g phone?, :D .

    First have your gprs and mms activated. how? the configurations for activating gprs and mms varies according to phone models / brand. The easiest way is to go to smart & have it activated and its absolutely free. You must at least have 10 load to activate the service. When they activated the gprs and mms the 3g would be activated too.

    Your 3g phone(3g activated) +usb cable+pc suite (driver, install to pc)+smart signal (make sure your in 3g area to get the 3g speed, if not you’ll only get the gprs speed)=internet connection.

    Its plug & play as soon as your laptop sees a new device , install the driver, installation wizard will help you to create a new connection just follow the setup and when your done your ready to surf the net. But you’ll not be able to use your phone if your connected to the internet. Goodluck. Nna g
