you will need to jailbreak your iphone and then buy pay as you go sim card from att or tmobile. That way you can only use text and calling. Will not work with internet. Ya probably need to use wifi when you want ot use internet. Mr.Gen
Well if you using internet in laptop via Wi-Fi then you can also use internet in your iPhone 3G totally free. Alex
The first thing you need to check is what network it is locked to.
In the USA it is AT&T and in the UK Organe, O2 or Vodafone.
You then need to purchase a Pay As You Go Sim Card from the operator with the best package for your your needs.
After putting the sim card in the iPhone you will ned to activate the iPhone / sim card buy plugging the iPhone into a computer with iTunes installed (you will need an iPhone to USB cable for this).
Once activated you should be able to use the iPhone including Internet, although you may need to changes some settings on ther iPhone to do this. my-iPhone
