Depending on how long you’ve had the phone or if you purchased apple care you can take the phone to an apple store and they will replace the battery or replace the phone. Otherwise you will pay about $120 to replace the battery. You can also check on your contract and see if you are eligible for a new iPhone at a discounted price. Pippichic
There have been recorded instances of iPhones getting hot.
I would suggest taking the iPhone to your local Apple store. They can test to see how long the battery is lasting for and will supply a new handset if required.
If the iPhone is in warrenty then there should be no charge. If it is out of warrenty then a small charge will apply. my-iPhone
Contrary to some the popular “overheating” rumors and myths, iPhones are designed to dissipate heat through the case which is why they get warm when charging and usage. Apple recommends at least charging iPhones without a case on them to allow heat dissipation.
Discharging the battery until the iPhone turns completely off then charging it with the A/C charger (not via USB on a computer which sometime turn USB off during sleep) over night occasionally is also important for conditioning the battery and testing. Although not permanent like other battery types the Lithium Ion batteries DO have memory effect that can be erased by full discharge then full charge cycles. If that doesn’t help, call Apple Care to see if the phone is still covered under warranty. iPhoney
