On my iphone 3gs it came with remote and mic earphones but the remote part doesn’t work?

I’ve just now got out my remote and mic earphones, I put them in my iphone 3gs and the remote part doesn’t work why? It works on my ipod classic but not my iphone anyone know how to fix this?

    I believe it’s a software issue, I have had the same issue on my iPhone 3G, the OS 4 software update next week should fix it.

    yah its a issue of software! You can try to change the earphones! and one more thong you can change the look of your iphone by covering it with iphone skins from .. These skin will make your phone different in look from others iphones! Suhana Chhikara
