Would you recommend the droid eris to someone who has never used a smart phone or touch screen phone before?

It would have to have the memory and battery life to play movies and songs for the 3 hours I spend on my commute.
I hate things that take hours and hours to download to because nothing syncs easily and you have to know a lot of technology to change it from one thing to another.
