A Smart phone in Philippines can recv YM txt but I do not recv the replies. why?

I am running YM 7.5. My friend in the Philippines uses Smart mobile service. My friend puts YM to SMS mode. From my computer in US I can send SMS msg that are received by friends mobile in short time. My friend replies but I do not receive the reply. I know this because we have used Skype as a second communication line to test YM SMS. It work up to about 1 month ago have had trouble since then. Have reinstalled YM on both ends. Still does not work.
