What are the chances that the iPhone becomes available to other carriers?
Remember about 3-4 years ago when the Motorola Razr first came out? It was $500 and only available on Cingular. Now the phone is priced much lower and available on every network. What are the chances the same thing will happen with the iPhone? I doubt the price will drop as much because of the technology, but what about it being available for all networks in the upcoming years?
If I got a smart phone flashed to metro pcs do I have to get the $50 plan?

Data Plan required for Smart Phone?
I’m thinking about getting the Motorola Q9M through Verizon, but my dad thinks that the data plan is necessary for using any smartphone. Also, if it isn’t required, will I be able to use a WiFi mini-SD card in the phone and use my homes wifi w/o being charged?

I am currently on Verizon and was told to wait from the Motorola Droid to come out! I thought I loved it. But with it being in it’s infant stage, I have already heard rumors of people returning the device. I also have the option of switching to Sprint on my BF’s plan and ditching Verizon. These are all from at&t. I am a student who is going to college and my mom has a business on the road and needs great coverage. We got t-mobile less than 2 weeks ago and it didn’t work in this area.
Ive never had at&t before but i have heard good things about it and Im hoping that its a lot better than t-mobile.
I would like to have a phone that I can email on, can almost act like a mini computer, keep track of classes, has great software and will keep up with me(the more gadgets the better).
My mom is looking for a phone that she can use to keep track of appointments and double task with.
Voice activated for both are a plus, can not do without camera and money doesn’t matter.
