Is the Google Android tablet a good option when compared to the Ipad. Will it need an aircard?

I am upgrading my smart phone currently I am using my windows mobile 6.1 treo. I’ve found I am sending more and more mass texts to my church group, so I find I miss the ability to select multiple people at once from my pre-smart phone days. I run a business so I still want a smart phone. I’m with sprint. does anyone know of a phone that meets my needs?
