*The Almighty Ramen* asked:

So, I’ve seen commercials for the Apple iPad, but it just looks like a cross between a computer and an iPod Touch, and it’s too big to carry around in your pocket. Is there anything about new and significant about it, or is it just another thing that Steve Jobs and Apple came out with for us to spend our money on. I mean, it would be kind of cool to have one, but it just seems like a waste of money. Is it really something new and different?

Thanks!

It’s just one of those things that once you get one, you can walk around telling all of your friends that you have one. Better than a ipod touch but worse than a laptop. Waste of money in my opinion.

its just a bigger iPod touch, so there nothing that great about it to be honest

I mean the app store is nice but everything else is pretty limited (no flash, no multi tasking, fixed memory space)

Slates and touch screen tablets already existed, but one good thing is its encouraging other companies to improve their models to compete and make them more user friendley

TBH I think people would be wise to wait a few months as see what pops up to compete vulpes

It’s just perception how you look at it. Whenever something new comes , some adopt it and many start finding flaws in it , later it becomes a need.
History is the witness whenever something criticized by masses, it becomes a historic success. Example are iMac ,Sony Walkman,iPod,iPhone and now it’s iPad.

2 million ipads sold in 59 days just in US. It’s incredible figure by any standards.

People, who need to make many word document, excel spreadsheet and presentation all the time and upload them to WebDAV servers, find iPad amazingly convenient because iPad does all these in half of the time that a PC takes.

Flash is not needed to play video anymore. iPad plays movies , videos from almost every sites including Netflix, channel,CBS and Abc.

iPad lets you play radio on the background and also you can split the screen in two or three parts to do three jobs simultaneously with iPod or radio playing at the background.

You can download any PDF ,audio or video directly from website. Many people don’t know these features , because unless you own ,you won’t know all these features. They just assume , iPad doesn’t do multitasking iPad doesn’t support flash because other companies are airing these wrong information. But it’s business , they also have to sell their items.

Since I got iPad , I don’t use my laptop , I do all my work on iPad and I even watch all tv shows , live sports , movies online on iPad.And all these I can do on something which is extremely light and battery lasts for over 15 hours.

The time, a PC takes to boot,is enough for iPad to finish many jobs. rohit a

Overall, the iPad isn’t worth it. A PC Windows laptop or MacBook is much more worth it and laptops are cheapest and fastest. I’d put my money elsewhere enter all the sweepstakes I can to get one instead. I could do without a touch-screen apple netbook clone when HP, Sony and everyone else will have competitors out and decently priced soon, whereas the standard ipod is overpriced. Asdfqw Qwewqeasd

It doesn’t have anything special about it. The only thing new about it is that it has a large multi touch screen and uses Apples A4 chip. Besides, the iPad can’t even multitask or doesn’t have folders, which you will be able to do on the iPod touch June 21 Reecy
