I know that the iphone is a phone and the touch is not, but are there any other differences or is that it. Also does the iphone have free wifi or do you have to pay for it like a regular cell phone?

An iphone can text, has a phone, and has bars, like a phone, but it also has wifi compatibilaty, like an i touch. An iphone costs 300 but 30 per month, while an itouch is a one time deal of 200-300 dolllrs DtrBand

Not much, other thatn the iPod touch does NOT make phone calls. The iPhone has a camera, and the iPod touch does not, but Apple may add that on in the future. The iPod touch also does not have a built-in mic. Ebasch

That is basically the only difference between the two. The iPhone has a service plan like a regular and the Ipod Touch does not. They both connect to wifi hotspot but the iPhone can also connect to the internet through a cell phone service. Dylan

The iphone has access to 3G mobile data access so that you can still use the Internet even when wifi isn’t available. Yes, iphones can use wifi just like ipod touches and when they do it doesn’t cost anything extra.

Currently, ipod touches do not have a camera.

The current iPod Touch does not have a built-in GPS like the iPhone; although the touch can use wifi based positioning to get pretty darned close to the correct location.

That’s about all the differences. Annorax

The iPod Touch is a portable media player that also functions as a personal digital assistant.

Iphone has extra features like access to a telephone network and a built-in mike and camera.

In a word,Iphone can do what ipod touch do,but ipod touch can’t.
Iphone is more practical in some other aspects all the while, such as lots of apps.In my experience, many of my friends felt a little regretted after they buy touch instead of iphone :D Vurtne

    -iphone has camera, ipod doesn’t
    -iphone heavier than ipod
-ipod a little wider and more thin than iphone.
-iphone and ipod is same when related to wifi connection (its free)
but when ipod could not connect to internet when no wifi, iphone can do it using network data(so they have to pay it)
-ipod doesn’t have onboard mic, but you can outcome it using iphone earphone to add mic in itouch(around $25) this is useful if you using skype in you ipod touch.
-iphone have less time battery life (since iphone use it to connect gsm network)
-iphone has gps, ipod doesn’t zuiko

The iPhone has things such as the following that the iPod does not:

It combines “Music” and “Videos” into one app called “iPod”
    It has SMS
    It has calling
It gives the battery percentage in the status bar
    It has airplane mode
    It has a camera

    That’s all I know. Devin
